Jahan Posted June 23, 2024 Posted June 23, 2024 Hello all, I have a new PC with a fresh Windows 10 install. Affinity version 2.5.2 is installed. The new document dialog is shown. If I want to create a new document the application crashes. This also happens if I want to open an existing file. All windows updates are installed. The newest Nvidia driver is also installed. I tried the recommended steps from other posts describing the same issue. Clear user settings and disable hardware acceleration does not help. This is my hardware setup: AMD Ryzen 9 5900X 12-Core Processor 3.70 GHz RAM 64,0 GB NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4070 SUPER (driver version 555.99) Windows version: Edition Windows 10 Pro Version 22H2 build 19045.4529 Windows Feature Experience Pack 1000.19058.1000.0 Attached are the dump files for the crash. Please let me know if you need further information to solve the issue. Thank you for your help. Jahan Posted June 23, 2024 Author Posted June 23, 2024 Update: The issue seems to be resolved for me. I installed Gimp and DaVinci Resolve afterwards. Especially Resolve installed many additional c++ redistributables. Now the Affinity apps do not crash on startup anymore. So there are probably some dependencies missing in the Affinity installers. Staff Tom Lachecki Posted June 27, 2024 Staff Posted June 27, 2024 From the crash dump, it seems there was a catastrophic error trying to spin up Direct3D. Resolve's installation may have triggered an update/repair of those libraries, or of related device drivers. Patrick Connor 1 Quote
