DianeF Posted June 23, 2024 Posted June 23, 2024 I would like to be able to print out an image in Affinity Photo along with the swatch panel shwoing the palette colors in my image. If that's not possible, I'd like to be able to print out the swatch panel itself showing the colors in my document. I know how to create the color palettes so my question is not about this process, but instead is about printing the palettes. I have done some internet searching on this topic and haven't found any way to do this. The only thing I can think of is to do a screenshot of the photo and the swatch panel together and then print that. So my question is whether I can print an image along with the palette of colors in that image. If anyone knows how to do this, please let me know. Thanks. GarryP Posted June 23, 2024 Posted June 23, 2024 I don’t think it’s possible to get what you want without manually getting a screen-grab of the Swatches Panel (or more than one depending upon circumstances) as you have suggested. (I can’t remember seeing any solutions so I’d be happy to be proved wrong.) This might be a good feature request but the number of things that might be needed to take into consideration could be quite large. Quote
carl123 Posted June 23, 2024 Posted June 23, 2024 If you drag the swatches panel onto your document (i.e. undock it) you can ALT+PrtScrn just that panel which will place it onto the clipboard then just paste that clipboard content on your image ALT+PrtScrn works to copy just that panel on Windows not sure what the command is on Macs Quote To save time I am currently using an automated AI to reply to some posts on this forum. Hover this cursor over the target panel. Now press the Space bar and the crosshairs turn into a camera icon and the target panel becomes highlighted. Now left Click to capture just the target panel. Sound fiddly when written out, but in practice its quite quick to do! carl123 1 Quote macOS 12.7.6 | 15" Macbook Pro, 2017 | 4 Core i7 3.1GHz CPU | Radeon Pro 555 2GB GPU + Integrated Intel HD Graphics 630 1.536GB | 16GB RAM | Wacom Intuos4 M
DianeF Posted June 23, 2024 Author Posted June 23, 2024 Thanks for all the suggestions. MarkW's solution worked. I was able to capture the swatch panel as a png file and then, by reducing the size of my image, was able to copy and paste the swatch panel below my image. That allows me to print both together. Thanks so much! markw 1 Quote Affinity Photo, V 2.5.3 Affinity Designer, V 5.3 Affinity Publisher, V 5.3 Mac Book Air, Sonoma, 14.5
