Ayoub Abedrabbo Posted June 22, 2024 Posted June 22, 2024 Hi. I am new to affinity photo and I am used to either double clicking or alt clicking or something to reset a value back to default. Nothing I try seems to work and I can't find anything in the F1 help menu or online. Would someone tell me how they reset a value back to default? This is an example: I know the default value is 0, but if i didn't know, how would i reset it back? Quote
MikeTO Posted June 23, 2024 Posted June 23, 2024 Hi @Ayoub Abedrabbo and welcome to the forums. Affinity does not provide the ability to reset an individual option to its default value. You can only revert all attributes to their default values with Edit > Defaults > Revert. But thank you for telling me how to revert things back to defaults. I think the other approach (double- or alt-click something to revert it to defaults) works in simple app, but in something like Affinity, the question is reverting to what. For example, if you have a text frame with a default of Arial with text formatted as a paragraph style defined as Times and formatted with a character style defined as Courier and then the user applied Palatino as a character override, what should double- or alt-clicking the Font control revert to? Affinity provides a wealth of options for this scenario. If you click the menu icon next to a text style in the Text Styles panel, you'll find a dizzying array of options to apply a style while maintaining or clearing formatting.
