I am contemplating buying Apple’s Mac mini or Mac Studio (haven’t decided, yet).

Is Affinity Photo compatible with Apple’s M1 and M2 Silcon chip? Any compatiblity problems with these 2 Apple products using Affinity Photo?

Thanks

Yes, Affinity is compatible with the M1, M2, M3, and M4 chips. You'll find it runs a lot faster on these chips than the older Intel Macs.

Can I just double-check that Affinity Photo 2 and the others will be compatible with the new Macs with the M4 chips that are expected to be announced next week. Reason I ask is that the M4 chip isn't mentioned on the specs page for AP2, only the M1/M2/M3 chips. My current Mac was too old for AP2, and I've been holding out for these new Macs before upgrading to AP2, and I just want to make sure I'm good to go ahead with a purchase.

Thanks.

If Serif had early access to an unannounced chip they'd be unable to reply to your question without breaking their NDA with Apple.

Affinity already runs on the M4 iPad and it has run well on every M series chip to date. While a glitch with the M4 Pro can't be ruled out, it seems very unlikely. If you're concerned, you'll have to wait for somebody else here to receive their new machine and report that it's working okay.

That's good to know, thanks.
