John123321 Posted June 20, 2024 Posted June 20, 2024 (edited) Dear Affinity Team / Community, We are a small team that specialises in stills. More often than not we also implement quite a lot of 3D work in our projects these days. As a consequence, that work requires the addition of lens blur. However, for years people have begged you to add support for lens blur via Z Depth maps (generated in various 3D applications), and still there is nothing. I cannot stress this enough how important this feature is. It is literally a dealbreaker for anyone who uses 3D in combination with or without stills. Don’t get me wrong, Affinity is so good that it files through our gigantic files. It’s a breath of fresh air and it‘s a shame we can‘t jump ship just yet. So, I beg you. Please, reconsider. John123321 Posted June 21, 2024 Author Posted June 21, 2024 Hi thomaso, I’ve seen that one. To be quite frank, it‘s not even a workaround, not even close, especially, considering the results. Z-Depth is industry standard because you can set precise focal points and get realistic looking results. It‘s used everywhere in VFX and stills. Every tool in a production pipeline that deals with post production uses it. It‘s in Resolve, AE, PS, Nuke, just to name a few. Kind Regards, John
