I'm unsure if this would be classed as a bug per se but the behaviour differs and I would suggest is correct on Mac...

When creating a new document preset on Mac the Category in which to place the new preset defaults to the source selection, e.g., if I have an existing preset selected from the 'Architectural' or 'Devices' categories then the new Category Preset defaults to the respective category when saving the new preset...

On Windows regardless of the source category, the Create New Preset category always defaults to the Print category, the correct category has to be selected manually from the category dropdown menu each time...

I would class this as a bug as I would expect the same behaviour on both OS's - and personally I prefer the macOS behaviour as this makes the most sense IMO.

Therefore I have logged this with our team for you now :)
