I agree that should have a confirmation step (but one would be enough for me :) ).

You have no idea how devastated I feel every time I accidentally delete my records. I have no clue what I've been doing lately. When they ask me for project files, I don't even know where to find my design drafts.

That sounds like you should invest some time creating a better organization of your files on disk. Perhaps a folder for each project, with its drafts there and any specific resources you needed. And perhaps some better naming of files, so your OS can help you search for them.

I think it’s worth noting, for anyone reading this, that the “Clear” functionality in the “Open Recent” menu doesn’t actually delete the files, it only clears the list of internal ‘shortcuts’ to the files. Clearing the list of recent files leaves the files themselves intact.

You should be able to find all of you Affinity (*.af*) files by searching for them in File Explorer or Finder, depending on your OS.

YESSSSS. Please, it's only the second time Ive mistakenly done it in two years but I work on multiple projects and having the open recent library is super handy. Pretty Please can you include a simple "confirm clear?" pop up.  The two options are right next to each other and both times Ive accidentally slipped my mouse onto the 'clear' instead of 'open more'.

The RecentFiles.xml file holds all that information so you may want to include that file in your daily backups

It's a simple job to restore it back and the app then load with your previous recent files list intact

Tested on Windows 11 (exe version of app)

In Windows (11), it is possible to use the latest files provided by the OS by right-clicking on the application icon in the taskbar.
