Affinity Designer - Warp Group (Quad)

Recommended Posts

I'm using the newest version of Designer (2.5.2). For the texts on the signpost I use a variable size font (Bahnschrift) warped with the "Warp Group (Quad)" functionality to place it in perspective to the signs.

Creating a PDF (Berufs-_Studienwahl_V1-2.pdf) an printing it out with Acrobat Reader works as expected. When printing directly from Designer to my Canon ip4900, Canon MB5150 and Microsoft PrintToPDF (Berufs-_Studienwahl_V1-2_ms_print_to_PDF.pdf) it looks like the warping is not applied.

Is this a bug in Designer?

If useful, I can suupply you with the original Designer file.

Regards,

Roger

@RGrieder Welcome to the forums.

I've setup a quick test file using a variable font and applied a warp using the quad option and printed directly from Designer and the printout was as expected. I was using Designer on macOS Sonoma.

If you can provide a copy of your file so it can be check, just in case and also let me know which OS you're using the apps on.

@Lee D I can confirm on Windows, that the text is printed without warp effects!

It doesn't matter whether I print directly onto paper or into a PDF file.

I've found an existing report and updated it, linking to this thread.

A workaround for the moment is to convert it to Curves before printing.

Then we hope that this missbehaviour in the windows version will be corrected in one of the next releases. Thank you.
