fastfuud Posted June 13, 2024 Posted June 13, 2024 I’ve been to two Apple stores to test the iPad Pro m4. When I open Affinity Designer and test the pixel brushes, the program looks corrupt. There is weird artifacts in the the brush selection and drawing It looks fine on my iPad Pro 2017. What gives? Quote

What gives? The last Affinity V1 iPad update was released in December 2022 and therefore simply could not have been created with the M4 iPad in mind at the time. However Affinity V2 iPad was last updated at the start of June 2024, and has been tested for use with the M4 iPad devices. I'm unsure why the Apple display iPads would be using the V1 version of the Affinity apps, as the V2 versions superseded this over 18 months ago and we always recommend using the latest version available, especially on brand new devices. I hope this clears things up! Quote
walt.farrell Posted June 13, 2024 Posted June 13, 2024 There's a known issue in 1.10.7. Perhaps you were trying V1 on one iPad and V2 on the other? https://forum.affinity.serif.com/index.php?/search/&tags=AF-406 Quote -- Walt Designer, Photo, and Publisher V1 and V2 at latest retail and beta releases PC: Desktop: Windows 11 Pro 23H2, 64GB memory, AMD Ryzen 9 5900 12-Core @ 3.00 GHz, NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3090 Laptop: Windows 11 Pro 23H2, 32GB memory, Intel Core i7-10750H @ 2.60GHz, Intel UHD Graphics Comet Lake GT2 and NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3070 Laptop GPU. Should Apple corporate be aware of this, because at the Apple Store both the new iPad Pro m4 and iPad Air m2 do only have Affinity Designer 1 with this issue In doing this will show Affinity software in its best light. Because for me this was definitely a buying factor. And others won’t go deep into the Affinity forums to find the issue BUT blame it on the iPad or use Procreate instead. Quote

Many thanks for bringing this to our attention Quote

Dan C Posted June 14, 2024 Posted June 14, 2024 I can confirm that our marketing team have made our contact(s) at Apple aware of this and we've requested in-store iPads to use Affinity V2 apps, across the board. I'm unsure if we'll receive direct confirmation of when this is implemented this due to the way Apple propagate this request internally - but we certainly hope that this comes into fruition shortly Quote
