The keyboard shortcut for Merge Selected Layers in Affinity Photo stopped working. I use SHIFT+COMMAND+E to merge layers all the time. Suddenly, though, I get a dialog box with a bespectacled smiling face that says "Please select some text. You can press Command + Shift + E after you've highlighted any text."

If I use the menu item LAYER > MERGE SELECTED (which STILL indicates the formerly working shortcut) I can merge the layers. And yes, both layers are PIXEL (rasterized) layers.

Welcome to the Affinity forums, @Matthew B.

If you're really using V1, there have certainly not been any application changes as that version is not receiving updates except for major OS-related issues.

But I must say I've never seen a dialog box and icon like that from the Affinity programs. I suspect some other application you've installed is intercepting that key combination.
