I don’t know if this still works with Windows 11 but, try right-clicking on the file in File Explorer and choosing Properties from the contextual menu.

Then look at the “Opens with” setting. If it doesn’t say “Affinity Designer 2” then you can change it via the Change button.

Thanks for the information.

Can you try changing the application to what it already is, just in case that ‘gives the OS a bit of a kick up the bum’? (Just click on the Change button and select the Affinity Designer 2 application.)

Have you tried restarting your machine since you last updated the application?

Simply going into that dialog, and making the OS look for the application and do a bit of ‘furtling around’, may force the OS to re-evaluate some things in the background and cause the icon to be re-registered.
