Yaoif Posted June 4, 2024 Posted June 4, 2024 Hi, when I'm trying to export my artboard as jpg or png files, a white strip will appear on the right side of the file. This happens when the file size is B4 and alike. For other size, there is no such problem. Please see the photos attached. Furthermore, when exporting the whole document rather than the specific artboard, the white strips appears again on all 4 sides. My question is how to avoid the white strips at all? I'm using v2.4.0. It seems the same with v2.5 Beta. I'm not sure if this problem is solved in the latest v2.5? Thanks! Quote
Dan C Posted June 4, 2024 Posted June 4, 2024 Hi @Yaoif, Sorry to hear you're having trouble! As you're exporting to a Pixel based format (JPG) the Artboard has to be resized to a 'full pixel size', as the JPG dimensions need to be integer numbers. For example, if the Artboard is 103.6px wide in Affinity, when exporting you will produce a jpg with a rounded 104px wide value, and that additional area will be white matte. Please select File > Document Setup and change the Document units to Pixels. Now select your Artboard directly (not an object on the Artboard) and in the Transform Studio ensure your X / Y values are both 0, then adjust the Height / Width to be full pixel values. Now, when exporting to JPG you should find the file matches the size shown in the Transform Studio, and there are no additional white pixels included. I hope this clears things up Quote

I hope this clears things up Hi @Dan C, Sorry for taking so long to get back to your instruction on my question. I tried your solution, changed the document units to pixels and ensure all the values in the Transform Studio are full pixel values. But the exported jpg still has the unwanted additional area on the right side. Please see the photos attached. I noticed this happens when the bleed is included. Without the bleed included, the export jpg is perfectly fine. Quote

In the application Settings, under Tools, how many decimal places do you have specified for pixel units? I suggest at least 3.
