The late 2.5 crashes when I try to add a text to a picture. The same problem with Publisher2.5. Windows 10

You refer to the ‘same problem’, but you only mention Publisher. I see from your other posts that you also use Affinity Photo, so I’m guessing that version 2.5 of both apps crashes for you.

Are you using Frame Text or Artistic Text? How are you trying to add it to the picture?

I have the problem with the two programs.

I load a photo, click on A (artistic text)

then click on "font choice", and immediately the program disappears.

It is completely impossible to use Publisher with this bug.

If I paste a text written on Word, it works properly.

You may have a faulty font installed. What happens if you type something immediately after choosing the Artistic Text tool, instead of trying to switch to a different font?

Good idea. It works if I stay on Arial! 

The question is that I did not install any new font.

Hi, I have the same problem on publisher version 2.5.

I can edit text in existing templates, as long as I stick to the font used previously, but as soon as I want to change fonts, it crashes.

I've tested this here in all Affinity Windows apps and I've not yet been able to replicate this crash - however our team have recently fixed many font related crashes in our latest beta version (2.5.2) which we're working to release as a full update as soon as possible.

Can you please install the beta version alongside your retail version of the Affinity apps and let me know if this same crash occurs here for me?

With the version beta2.5.2 the problem seems to be solved on Affinity photo. I tried sevral fonts without any problem.

I have to try later with Publisher.

hi, in my case I could solve the issue by identifying a font that caused the crash. I deinstalled it and now it works fine again
