Affinity Publisher: Unable to load an old file 2.4

Hello,

I'm having a major problem with an Affinity Publisher file dated 23 June 2024. At the time, I reported a malfunction during the version change between the old and new 2.4 versions. This file contained images linked to Affinity Photo and Affinity Designer prior to version 2.4.2.2371.

When I try to open this file, the process is slow, and once it's open, I can't access any objects to modify it or even change pages.

I've also tried to open it on another networked computer with the same version (2.4.2.2371), but searching for images crashes the software. I had created a copy of the folder at the time, but I can't modify the objects or even change the page.

The situation is critical, as the client is waiting for an urgent text update.

I'm asking for your help to solve this problem as quickly as possible.

I think we have the same problem, I have opened a post where I attached a screen recording of the issue.:

If it´s happening the same to you my solution is to downgrade the affinity versions to 2.4.2. Its really simple, just go to this post of the affinity team: 

and download the older versions for the platform you need.

So I went back to version 2.4.1 (2344), saved, then updated to 2.4.2 (2371), saved, then updated 2.5.0 (2471). The objects are finally accessible. However, the version seems to have become unstable and eventually froze. In any case, the main thing is that I've been able to recover everything. Many thanks to you, @eduardotanco.

Addendum.

In the end, it doesn't work. You get stuck at one point or another.

The bug hasn't disappeared

Version 2.5.2 (2486) seems to have solved the bug. Thanks to the Affinity team.
