From various versions, there is a recurring and very annoying bug. Even in the latest 2.5 version, saving a file and immediately printing it causes the app to crash. Often, the other open files are recovered, but not always, and the work is lost. I have sent the logs every time there is a crash, but the problem persists. To print after saving, I have to wait a few seconds and hope that everything goes well. When working, and when clients are in the office, it is quite annoying and unprofessional :(

I hope it can be resolved soon, thank you.

Thanks for your report @CristianR & sorry to hear you're having trouble!

I'm not able to replicate this behaviour here currently, though we have previously had macOS printing issues reported to our team that are specific to that users machine/setup - so this may be the reason I'm not seeing this happen at this time.

Can you please try removing the printer from your installed printers list, then restart your mac, download the latest drivers for your printer directly from the manufactures website and reinstall your printer as a new device.

Now try saving/printing once again in Affinity - does this stop the crashing occurring please?

If not, I'd like to request a copy of your crash reports to see if these contain further information. You can find out how to locate these reports here -

Many thanks in advance :)

Thank you for trying that for me and I'm sorry to hear this hasn't helped!

Firstly, please ensure you have updated to our latest version released today (2.5.2) as this contains improvements and bug fixes from our team which might stop this from occurring.

Secondly, if you navigate to Window > Preflight and then set Preflight 'Check' to 'Never' - now try saving and printing once again. Does the crash still occur?

Can you please also navigate to Affinity Designer 2 > Settings > Performance and provide a screenshot of your settings here for me?

Many thanks once again :)
