Lens Profile Noob Question/Confusion

Recommended Posts

Hello,

Previously my RAW files had all been of a camera with a fixed lens, so using Lens Profile was very straight forward. However, I just got some files where the situation is different. This is the metadata I get:

Device make: SONY

Device model: ILCE-7M3

Affinity Photo shows:

ILCE-7M3 (Zeiss Batis 85mm F1.8)

After searching lensfun (https://lensfun.github.io/lenslist/), it seems to be in the database, with that exact name.

model crop dist. TCA vign.
Batis 85mm f/1.8 1.0 yes no no

However, I don't see it Affinity Photo 2.4.2

The lens seems only available in v0.3.3 of the lensfun database. How should I proceed, in this case?

Any guidance is appreciated.

When you're looking:

  • At Filters > Lens Correction in the Photo Persona, is the correct lens identified? If not, what is shown?
  • At the Lens panel in the Develop Persona, is the correct lens identified? If not, what is shown?

Oh, this made me think about something else. I had "Default lens profile: None". I changed it to Auto-select.

Carl Zeiss E 85mm F1.8 is auto selected. I guess that's the right one.

Thank you.

You're welcome. Glad it was that simple :)
