export settings for ebook

Recommended Posts

Good afternoon,

I am still searching for help on this topic...I have an ebook I am trying to get right for kdp.  It has hyperlinks and images, so I seem to have to use the digital export preset to be able to keep hyperlinks.  However, I keep getting layer lines showing up in the pdf on the kindle create preview (see faint gray line).  Note, when I open the pdf in adobe I do NOT see this line. If I flatten and export as pdf x1 there are no lines but this is not compatible with exporting hyperlinks.  Not sure what to do!  The paperback has already been published so I'd like to get the ebook up there asap.

Thanks,

Kelly

You can have hyperlinks with some of the other PDF export formats, but not with the "X" formats.

Sorry, I don't know the answer for your problem with the gray lines.

The grey lines could be an artifact that shows only in Kindle Previewer but possibly not in the finished product. Have you tried uploading it to KDP and checking the preview on there? Have you tried viewing it on a Kindle device or Kindle app?
