mikefats
This useful especially when working on masks, quickly filling selections with white or black, a-la "cmd+backspace to fill" in Photoshop. Is there an equivalent?
Staff Callum Posted May 23, 2016 Staff Share Posted May 23, 2016 Hi Mike, If you go to Affinity Photo > Preferences and then go to the Keyboard shortcuts sub menu. In here you will see 2 drop downs on the lefthand side. Make sure that the top one is set to Photo and the bottom one is set to Layer. In the list below these drop downs you will find a line that reads New Fill Layer. Set your own custom shortcut for this and you will be able to select something and then fill it using your shortcut. Please note however this will create a new fill layer every time it is used. I hope this helps :) C Please tag me using @ in your reply so I can be sure to respond ASAP. Good tip about the shortcuts customizations. I explored it a bit and there's even an edit>fill shortcut (shift+F5 by default) but it would've ben great if you could specify what kind of fill to perform (from the fill dialog box options) with your shortcut as well. I figure I can do this to hide/reveal areas on a layer's mask: make a selection to hide: 'delete' key (that one's easy!) make a selection to reveal: 'shift'+F5 --> 'enter' Close enough for a keyboard shortcut
