I am having many issues with Publisher. This happened a couple of months ago, and has happened again.

  • I can open a document, but can't save it or save a copy of it.
  • Within the document, I can select tools from the toolbar, but cannot use them on a page - nothing happens, e.g the select tool won't select any objects on the page, the Text tool won't create text, the place tool will open a dialog box where I can choose an image, but won't then place it.
  • I can scroll the pages, but can't click on them, edit them or delete them. 

Please can anyone provide help?

Hi @Rowana and welcome to the forums,

Several known issues with the v2.5.0 release have been addressed either via the 2.5.1 update or the 2.5.2 Beta though from your description it sounds as though you were having these issues before updating to 2.5.0...

The first thing to try is to launch Publisher while holding the Ctrl Key, when you see the 'Clear User Data' screen, leave the first three options checked and click the 'Clear' button to see if that fixes any of the issues you've described...

If that makes no difference then the latest advice depending on where you downloaded 2.5.0 from is shown in the linked post below...

Assuming you've not added any of the 2.5.0 specific features to your document, e.g., QR Codes then rolling back to 2.4.2 is probably your best option where you 'should' still be able to open your file...

You may want to repeat launching Publisher while holding the Ctrl key the first time you reload v2.4.2 just to be sure.

Failing that, as mentioned in the post below there is a 2.5.2 Beta available which fixes several issues in the 2.5.0 release so that may be an option as well but let us know how you get on and what works and what doesn't.

Other than that it may be a case of uploading your file so we can take a look and see if there are any file-specific issues.

Thanks so much for the speedy response!

Clearing the data didn't work, but rolling back to 2.4.2 has done so - might try the beta version at some point and see if that works too.

I wish to report that I also encountered the same issues the moment I tried to duplicate a style with the file that I was creating on my Win 11 Publisher version 2.5.0. The moment I tried to duplicate the Base style something corrupted the file within Publisher. Updating to the latest beta has fixed the situation so far.

I can take MicroSoft and send it somewhere.  I am so tired of fight with it.  Was having major issues with another software.  Made the mistake of doing a system restart and now I can't use Affinity Publisher.  Getting the crap about not able to verify the publisher.  I am just so tired of this.  I just want to use my software.  I uninstalled Publisher.  Downloaded it.  Now can't even install it.  I have spent the past week on tech sites, chatting with other services.  Scanning my computer.  I scan it several times a day.  This is such a headache.  I need heimage.png.4ba2adf7b26d74ed687561810c23214d.pnglp with getting
