Hello

My apps came from direct from the Afinity store and now refuse to start following the latest update

All that happens when I try to start the apps is that it says initiasing followed by Loading fonts.  They then just quit.

This happens both from directily running the app and from double clicking a file.

My computer is running a fully up-to-date version of Windows 11 pro

Any help please - is this related to the Mac os problem?

This seems to be a known problem that the Affinity team is working on, but have not identified a fix for yet:

https://forum.affinity.serif.com/index.php?/search/&tags=AF-3190

You could consider rolling back to 2.4.2, which Affinity Store users can do at:

Designer: https://affinity.store/update/windows/designer/2

Designer, Photo, and Publisher 2.5 were crashing on my Windows Pro 11 after install. These had been updated from the app and purchased directly from Affinity.

I had installed a new font from the internet a month back named Minion Pro. So I decided to delete that font and launch Designer 2.5 and it runs fine now. So maybe it is just some bad fonts that could cause the issue. My Windows 11 Home install was not an upgrade as it came with my PC other than upgrading to Pro through Microsoft.

So others may want to try altering their font library to just default ones as a troubleshooting step.  I got lucky since I knew there was only one new font since my PC was pretty virgin. Good luck all!!!

Thanks for this - rolling back has worked.

Here's hoping a fix to 2.5 doesn't take too long
