Apps 2.5.0 do not display installed fonts

We're sorry about this - we're investigating.

Are you using a Font Manager? Do you know where the fonts are installed i.e in your USERPROFILE font folder or the one in the Windows directory?

The problem started with version 2.5 BETA and is present in the release version.

Did you mention this during the beta at all? Only asking to make sure it's not already logged with our QA team from during the beta.

Ok, thanks for letting me know.

Yes, I am. I am not sure where they are installed, but definitely not in the Windows directory, which I thoroughly checked.

Používáte správce písem? Víte, kde jsou písma nainstalována, tj. ve vaší trvalé písemnosti USERPROFILE nebo v adresáři Windows?

I have the fonts installed in the folder C:\Users\UserName\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Windows\Fonts. At the same time in C:\Windows\Fonts. The problem started today after the update. Font Manager doesn't help in any way.

What do you mean "are not working"? Are they not displayed in fonts combo menu? image.png.39ac95113660434eec00d4fafe3931a2.png

Do you have any fonts installed via Adobe's Creative Cloud at all?

Cannot have the same fonts in the main Windows Fonts folder and in your User Fonts folder.

Affinity applications scan these Fonts folders for all fonts - and duplicates often do not appear at all in the font list.

Best to have all your fonts only in Windows Fonts.

I had this exact issue during the Beta with no installed fonts, i.e. Google fonts, appearing on the list, but they existed in 2.4. When I updated to 2.5 for retail that bug appeared there as well.

One file that I worked on in 2.4 also had the font turn up missing when opening up after the update. I tried downloading and installing that font manually again, but nothing happened to fix the issue in Affinity.

After updating Affinity Designer to 2.5, one of my important fonts installed on my PC is no longer showing up correctly on the artboard.... They don't even show up in the font selection area. I can't edit the design I'm currently editing😭

Reinstall version 2.4.2 from here

https://store.serif.com/update/windows/designer/2/

https://store.serif.com/update/windows/publisher/2/

https://store.serif.com/update/windows/photo/2/

or wait while 2.5.1 will release.

I saw a user who is using FontBase experiencing this problem.
I suppose it because that the fonts not shown are not in Windows\Fonts. (not installed)

I use FontBase, and my fonts are shown properly in the 2.5.0 applications, even though they are installed in my local folders, not in \Windows\Fonts.

No, they are not there, either.

By the way, for whatever reason, the 2.5.0 (MSIX version) on my Windows 11 laptop is also able to show the fonts that are installed in C:\Users\UserName\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Windows\Fonts

Another one with the same problem with fonts; since I updated to version 2.5, it has stopped recognizing many of them. I use the FontBase font manager, and for reference, I don't have the fonts in the C:\Users\UserName\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Windows\Fonts directory. In my case, I have them in a specific folder on a different drive than C

Downgrading to version 2.4.2, everything has started working normally again.

My system is a Windows 11 23H2 with an AMD Ryzen 9 5900X, 64GB of RAM, and an NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3070.

I do the same. What is your AMD Ryzen 9 5900X startup time? You can check it in task manager in "Startup" tab in the upper right corner.
