yes

If so can you reproduce the issue if you disconnect it and just the the macbook screen?

When I create a new text frame it seems to work.

Just to confirm, is that if you create a new text frame in the same document?

I still cannot reproduce it on my Mac with the file you've sent. If you do find a recipe to reproduce it on a new text frame/document then please let me know and I'll try it again.

The issue appears to be specific to the font used, i.e., Lato...

If you edit the Text Styles and change Lato to any other font the problem no longer exists but I'm unsure why or what specifically it is about Lato causing the issue in this particular case...

We have now been able to reproduce this when using the Lato font installed via Creative Cloud.

Strange, because i do not use Creative Cloud.

Me neither but I think I may know what is causing the issue so will report back shortly...

An issue raised in this thread ("Clicking before a hyphen moves the caret to the previous line when using specific font") has now been reported to the developers by the testing team (Ref: AF-3165). Thank you very much for reporting this issue to us.

Hi @anto and @EmT,

So the issue isn't with the font itself, it's with 'Case Sensitive Forms'... Once 'unchecked' in the Typography panel everything goes back to normal again...

Why does this anomaly occur only with a hyphen?

It will happen with other glyphs for that particular font, e.g., a bullet point. For some reason disabling the option in the text style itself doesn't disable it globally, i.e., it remains active in the Typography panel so has to be disabled manually as far as I can tell...

But I didn't use the typography panel. What could have caused this problem?

At the moment I'm unsure how or why the option would be activated since it isn't by default...

Out of interest, did the sample file start life in v2.4.2 or was it created natively in the 2.5 Beta?

The file was probably created back in 2.0.

That makes sense, I figured it must have been created in an earlier version based on a couple of settings in the Text Style Editor...
