Marko_mx Posted May 13, 2024 Posted May 13, 2024 Hello Affinity Community, I wanted to ask if anyone knows how to activate text rules in Affinity Designer 2.5 beta in order to tabulate texts, since it doesn't appear in the View menu. The instruction manual shows the following, but in V2.5 it does not exist in that contextual menu. Quote
Marko_mx Posted May 13, 2024 Author Posted May 13, 2024 Even when inserting or selecting the text, it also doesn't appear in the menu. Quote
MikeTO Posted May 13, 2024 Posted May 13, 2024 The Text Ruler is only available in Publisher Quote Download a free PDF manual for Affinity Publisher 2.6 Download a quick reference chart for Affinity's Special Characters Affinity 2.6 for macOS Sequoia 15.4, MacBook Pro (M4 Pro) and iPad Air (M2)
Marko_mx Posted May 13, 2024 Author Posted May 13, 2024 Thanks You Mike, I think it would be good for the user experience to have it incorporated into Affinity Designer since you can't access the Publisher interface from Designer. And it's inconvenient not to be able to tabulate any text in Affinity Designer as required by the design being done. Quote

Marko_mx Posted May 13, 2024 Author Posted May 13, 2024 Thanks you, From my point of view as a user experience designer, I believe it's a very poor experience, just like the "Paste without formatting" menu in Affinity Designer. I'm a fan of Affinity, but there is room for improvement, and it should happen soon. Quote

But if you also own Photo you can access everything that Designer provides from within Publisher, except for the Export Persona. So, in that case, you could just do your work in Publisher when you're going to be dealing with significant text functions.
