true_joan Posted May 8, 2024 Posted May 8, 2024 I'm still learning Affinity and all it can do. On a forum someone kindly shared a few of their text styles, and when trying them out they worked fine. However, several of the styles started changing the font intirely and its size. If they all did it I would assume it was the creator, but that's nto the case. I can't find anyone else talking about this or any fixes. This may not be a bug, it may just be me lacking the know-how to fix it. Still thought it best to share in case others were also having this issue.
walt.farrell Posted May 8, 2024 Posted May 8, 2024 Welcome to the Serif Affinity forums, @true_joan. We'll probably need to see the text styles, and perhaps a sample document that demonstrates the problem. -- Walt Designer, Photo, and Publisher V1 and V2 at latest retail and beta releases PC: Desktop: Windows 11 Pro 23H2, 64GB memory, AMD Ryzen 9 5900 12-Core @ 3.00 GHz, NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3090 Laptop 1: Windows 11 Pro 24H2, 32GB memory, Intel Core i7-10750H @ 2.60GHz, Intel UHD Graphics Comet Lake GT2 and NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3070 Laptop GPU. The creator of the styles had probably not considered that the font is also saved in the style. I also have some styles here where I am annoyed that I have to change the font every time. I always do this by creating a round shape and applying the style to it. Then I delete the style from the category and transfer it from the shape back into the category. @walt.farrell For you to test. Floral patterns. That's true, but in the text she also mentions creator, which led me to the conclusion that by 'text styles' she means the (decorative grapic) styles. Because anything else would be nonsensical, as you can expect the behavior described by her with a predefined text style. Let's agree that now only the OP can clear things up. walt.farrell 1 MAC mini M4 | MacOS 26.0.1 (Tahoe) | 16 GB RAM | 256 GB SSD AMD Ryzen 7 9700X | Sapphire Nitro+ RX 9060 XT 16 GB | 32 GB DDR5 6000 MT/s | Windows 11 Pro 25H2 (26100.6584) Windows 11 Pro on VMWare Virtual Machine (on Mac) Affinity Suite V 2.6.4 Don't waste my thoughts with useless ideas!
