Would anybody be able to free me from the madness? I"m not a tech person and am stuck on this Missing Font Issue:

I am on Windows Desktop using Affinity Publisher V.2. My document does not, nor ever has contained an "Aptos" font. I am using a font called "Caroni". When I go to "fix" the issue in the Font Manager I select the Caroni font but nothing ever happens and this missing font error won't go away?

Are there any easy solutions other than just using a different font for my whole document? I did change my font just to see if the error would go away and it did. But I am hoping to use the Caroni font. Thanks in advance. I am a grateful Noob for your assistance.

Hi @Row13,If you highlight a portion of text within a frame, can you modify the font to Caroni in that specific area? Could you please provide the .afpub file so I can check if it displays the Caroni font properly on load? I've installed it on my system. Thank you.

@MEBThank you for getting back to me. I am sorry but how would I provide the .afpub file?

Hi @Row13,
If you wish to keep it private please use this link to upload it directly to us (rather than post publicly on the forums). Thank you.

@MEB Thank you for your help. I used the link to upload the .afpub file

Did any of the text originally come from a Windows document, such as a Word file, or some cut-n-paste?

Aptos is the new default font in Windows 11 Office 365 in Word, Excel, etc.
So it would be very easy for someone to accidentally include some text, even a space, formatted with that font.

Aptos is only available as a Microsoft Cloud Font, so it is not available to Affinity.
So this is going to be an ongoing issue with users bringing in text from Office.

Note: the Font Manager does not enable you to actually manage your fonts as you (and everyone else) expects. To permanently replace the font, not just substitute temporarily, you need to do a Find and Replace.

To those who replied and helped out, I was very impressed with the help. I have newfound hope in humanity because of you guys/gals. Thanks again from a humble Noob. I will follow through the advice given and that video you sent me MEB.
