kanihoncho
Does a single purchase allow installation on my desktop and laptop?
Paul Bravery
Hi kanihoncho, Yes it does, as in the App Store T's&C's, up to 5 devices with the same Apple ID. Paul. kanihoncho
R C-R
Actually, the Mac App Store licensing terms specify that for non-commercial use you can install application purchases on an unlimited number of Macs that you own or control. For commercial use, one purchase covers either a single Mac shared by several workers or every Mac used by a single worker. Also, Affinity Mac products qualify for family sharing, so included family members can download their own copy for their Macs using their own Apple ID's. The 5 device limit applies to "Eligible Content" (like music tracks) & only to iTunes-authorized computers (Mac or PC). Specifically, for this there is a 10 "Associated Devices" limit, no more than 5 of which can be iTunes-authorized computers. EDIT: I should mention that this is what the U.S. T&C specifies. The T&C for other countries may be different. glenbarrington
Does this still apply for Affinity Photo for Windows?
Staff MEB Posted February 15, 2017 Staff Share Posted February 15, 2017 Hi glenbarrington, Yes, you can install it on your desktop and laptop (and other computers you own/control) as long as you are the only one using it for commercial purposes. Here's the link to the End User License Agreement. Quote A Guide to Learning Affinity Software
glenbarrington
Perfect answer in my eyes! Thanks. As an aside, in spite of the fact that Affinity Photo is most definitely NOT perfect, I am growing quite fond of it as an editor. The user interface can be a bit intimidating when you first see it, but once I jumped into the thing, I realized it's not THAT different from other graphics products with a tabbed user interface. Staff MEB Posted February 16, 2017 Staff Share Posted February 16, 2017 Hi glenbarrington. Affinity Photo (and Designer) are still new and growing up/maturing as applications. Hopefully things will get better as we move forward and keep addressing issues/adding functionality. Glad to know you are finding it useful as an editor. Thanks for your feedback and support.
