jonkl Posted April 29, 2024 Posted April 29, 2024 Dear support, I have from time to time problems with Affinity Designer 2.4.2 on a MacBook Pro M3 Max (MacOS Sonoma 14.3.1). While doing some pictures collage, sometime a few visual breaks occur in shapes or masks. When this happens, I save my project, close the software and then it works again. But I don't know what causes that kind of behaviour. I tried to export the file in JPEG and PNG and the artefacts were present. However, when exporting to PDF, the output file was clean (as expected). Thank you in advance for your support and assistance. Best regards Quote
jonkl Posted April 29, 2024 Author Posted April 29, 2024 As an addition, I have to say sometime the visual artefacs disappear when I adjust the zoom level in the editor but not always. And in that case, the layer structure is really simple. Rectangle with border and drop shadow as mask for the pictures. Nothing more. Quote
Staff Callum Posted April 30, 2024 Staff Posted April 30, 2024 Hi Jonkl, If possible could you provide a copy of the Affinity file in question so I can look into this further with you? I will provide a link to our DropBox below so you don't have to post the file publicly. If you would rather not provide the whole file you could always copy one of the problem objects over to a new document and then send me a copy of that instead. https://www.dropbox.com/request/f5F5ATNsQFFBWFOEbbgQ Thanks C Quote Please tag me using @ in your reply so I can be sure to respond ASAP.
jonkl Posted April 30, 2024 Author Posted April 30, 2024 (edited) Dear Callum, I was able to remove the personal pictures from the template and the problem is still present in the file. So please investigate as possible. If I export to jpeg, sometime the problem is present, different resolutions produce different artefacts. However the PDF export is clean and I was then able to convert it to JPEG using Affinity Photo 2... The way is a bit long... Thank you in advance. lepr Posted April 30, 2024 Posted April 30, 2024 The rendering of outside-aligned strokes appears to be the problem. Workaround: double the width of the stroke, make it centre-aligned and change order to 'Draw stroke behind'. Quote
