Looking For A Viable Wedding Workflow

Recommended Posts

Not sure where to post this question, but here goes....

I (like many others) am looking for an Adobe replacement workflow system. I am happily using Affinity Photo instead of Photoshop, but for now, I'm stuck using Lightroom. I am hoping someone can offer suggestions, or demonstrate a viable workflow for large numbers of photos, as in 400-600 per wedding.

I already have a solution for culling my images using Photo Mechanic. I'm just looking for a reasonable solution to make global changes like LR offers.

Even though I haven't tried it yet, I just don't think I can load groups of images into Affinity Photo and get the job done in a reasonable amount of time.

Has anyone worked this out yet? I am hoping Serif is working on a LR type program that we will have in the near future, but until then....

~thanks!

Hi RKTodd,

Affinity Photo is not intended to work with groups of photos. It can only process one photo at a time (although you can have more than one open simultaneously).

Serif already announced plans to develop an assets management software (DAM) similar to Lightroom / Aperture that will integrate seamlessly with Affinity Photo. However, as far as i know, it will take quite some time until it becomes available.

Thanks MEB,

I only use LR for global exposure / whitebalance corrections, and use Affinity Photo for any heave pixel manipulating. I had thought about opening 10-20 photos at a time in Photo, correct, save and repeat. I do think that would be a painful process.
