Crop Preset

I am trying to create a 2.25 : 3.25 crop preset for wallet size photos. When I enter 2.25 it truncates to 2. Why is that? Thanks.

Hi Pjglad,

 

Towards the top left hand side of the app when you are using the Crop Tool you should see a Mode drop down. If you set this to Absolute Dimensions it should resolve your issue :)

Thanks, but let me re-ask my question. How do I create an aspect ratio preset for 2.25 : 3.25?

Hi pjglad,

Select the Crop Tool, go to the Mode dropdown in the context toolbar and select Custom Ratio then insert the values you want in the width x height fields and press Enter. Now to save it go to the Mode dropdown again and select Add Preset. Give it a name and press OK. The new preset will be added to the list.

That does not work. I want to create a 2.25 : 3.25 aspect ratio crop preset. I cannot enter 2.25 as it truncates to 2.

@pjglad: you can simply enter 225 and 325 instead of 2.25 and 3.25.

As it is ratio, it doesn't matter. I attached a short video on how to make that.

Just don't enter the point in the middle. This is a ratio not specific dimensions.

Also you can choose Mode: Absolute Dimensions, choose inch units and enter the exact 2.25 in and 3.25 in values.

That will create a crop with those exact dimensions, not a ratio as @aspjglad is requesting.

Sorry, my bad, didn't realize you can't resize that with constraining the ratio....  :unsure:
