Unable to open any existing files or create new files in Affinity Designer 2.4.2 and Affinity Photo 2.4.2.

Recommended Posts

Since today, I cannot open any existing files or create new files in Affinity Designer 2.4.2 and Affinity Photo 2.4.2. Both applications shut down without giving me error messages.

I tried the CTRL while starting to clear everything, but nothing works.

Don't have the problem with publisher. But maybe it's because I don't use it. Today, with this problem, I try to open it, and I update it. So maybe it publisher works because of this. Could not say. The other two are already updated.

Is the only option is to reinstall everything?

Thank you in advance.

@TopDaryl If you open the apps Settings > Performance is Hardware Accelerations enabled? If so, please disable it and restart the app to see if that improves the situation. If not opens the settings again and try changing the Renderer to one of the other options.

It may also be worth checking to make sure your graphics card drivers are fully up to date.

You do have the option of also uninstalling the app and downloading a fresh version to install if the above fail.

Here are the settings :

And I don't have any options for the render.

The only thing I think it would have changed something is that Sunday I decided for the first time to do a deep scan for virus with 360 Total Security.  Maybe this software remove something it should not. I will uninstall both and reinstall.
