hsmokey
Hi there, Does anyone know how to arch text in Affinity Designer II? Please see attached image as an example- I currently use Adobe Illustrator for this feature, however, I'd like to switch over to Affinity Designer, if possible- Thanks! Ron P.
Hi @hsmokey, welcome to the forums It's about this simple. Use the Warp Group at the bottom of the Layers Panel.. 2024-04-13 19-01-25.mp4 Alfred 1 Quote Affinity Photo 2.5..; Affinity Designer 2.5..; Affinity Publisher 2.5..; Affinity2 Beta versions. To keep the letters vertical, use the Quad option and drag the top and bottom edges of the quad rectangle upward to curve them. hsmokey
Great! Thanks so much- I would like to keep the letters upright and it seems Adobe Illustrator's program is easier in that sense- Brian_J and Alfred

I wish Designer had predefined warp options like Illustrator. That’s one of the first things I missed when I started using Affinity. I hope Serif considers adding predefined warp options at some point. firstdefence
The warp feature in Affinity is quite rudimentary compared to Illustrator and VectorStyler. The biggest omission as far as I can see is the lack of constraint and no way to snap to guides nor grid, this makes the warping process clumsy at best. There are no centre nodes to move, so again you have to guess the centre of the text. All of these missing features should have been included by default along with the ability to save presets. Report card: Affinity-Canva needs to try harder.
