esc1237 Posted April 11, 2024 Posted April 11, 2024 A problem when importing a Word file including photos with "place/plazieren": Text, footnotes and captions including text frames are transferred normally, only the photos embedded in the Word file appear without frames in Publisher. The photos can neither be moved nor deleted. Does anyone have a suggestion for a solution? Quote

I think that's a good approach, but placing a .docx is effectively the same as Opening it, if Open for a .docx was possible in Publisher. So, after exporting as a PDF from Office, the equivalent operation would simply be Opening the PDF in Publisher, not Placing it, I believe. Open is the equivalent of what @esc1237 is currently doing with Place and a .docx file. (By the way, welcome to the Serif Affinity forum, @esc1237.) esc1237 Posted April 11, 2024 Author Posted April 11, 2024 Thank you for the advice. It turned out that the photos were already pinned in .docx, unpinning in Affinity Publisher restored the normal state. Thank you again, ESC Quote
