hugo bertrand
I know this is quite random, and nobody does that in the industry, combining a photo editing app with an illustration app But has anybody thought about combining Affinity designer and Affinity photo? Please gimme your thoughts!
Bobaffinity
Actually, ACD Canvas has done this for years. It is a very good program but not as deep as Affinity programs.
Uuiop
Hi Hugo Bertrand. As requested: full combination is one way to do it, but AD an APh have (each) a specialist emphasis - vector and raster, and specialised sub-sections (the Personas), with what I understand to be a common software "engine" underneath. It's delightfully easy to 'edit in...' the other app, and further deliciousness is eagerly awaited with Publisher. One of the aspects that makes Affinity easy to use (and such fun) is the careful selection of what is included in each app, with the deep creative scope available using them in combination. Separate but linked apps keep things simple, but don't limit anything. The Forums are usefully cross-app perhaps for this reason. (Just one user's contribution.) :)
dvoth
The programs would add more and more if combined and there are more programs to come yet. While I only have Affinity Photo from what I understand the file formats were made to make the programs work together. Oval
Just FYI: Already “discussed” here with one direct answer of the staff.
Oval
Actually, ACD Canvas has done this for years. It is a very good program but not as deep as Affinity programs. Canvas Draw for Mac is very cheap, much younger and already had the 2.0 update. We are still waiting for AD 1.5 and APub. AD still is much more an illustration tool than a design app. Seems that needed text features will not arrive before mid 2017. :( This is a big chance/advantage for other apps.
