Don Johnson Posted April 7, 2024 Posted April 7, 2024 A few years ago a ton of macros/scripts existed for CorelDraw; now a puny few. Many of these were extremely helpful, for example, manipulating nodes, fine rotation of objects, color swapping. Does anyone know of plans in the Serif family for such tools? I would be happy to pay reasonable fees to private developers. Thanks. Quote
Alfred Posted April 7, 2024 Posted April 7, 2024 Scripting is coming to the Affinity suite but macros are only available in Photo. There are no signs of a macro capability being added to Designer any time soon. Dan C Posted April 7, 2024 Posted April 7, 2024 Thanks for your post @Don Johnson! As Alfred has mentioned above, Macros are a function of Affinity Photo only and as far as I'm aware there are no plans to introduce these into Affinity Designer at this time. However, Scripting is due to be added in a future version of Affinity, though our team hasn't provided any specific timescales for this currently. In the meantime I'll move this post to the Feedback section of the Forums, I hope this helps Alfred 1 Quote
2ddpainter Posted April 7, 2024 Posted April 7, 2024 @Don Johnson Maybe a Tool like AutoHotKey (Win only) could be helpful AutoHotKey can be used to automate program tasks in many programs. (useful if a Program have no Scripting build in) This allows keyboard shortcuts and mouse events to be sent to Affinity Designer, for example, which are then executed there. Quote
Don Johnson Posted April 7, 2024 Author Posted April 7, 2024 I really appreciate these suggestions, but NOT what I am seeking. I am well familiar with tools like AutoHotKey, helpful for repetitive but NOT the same as a programmed Plug-in that would accomplish tasks with which I am not familiar (how to rotate an object with 360-degree separate motions). Perhaps I should not have used the words "scripts" or "macros", because I'm looking for tools like node manipulation, for example. Thanks again, fellow Affini-tiados. Quote
