"Edit with..." in Apple Photos not sending RAW images to Affinity Photo 2

I realize this problem is likely to be a problem with Apple Photos, but I'm getting no leads there, so...

This is a recent problem for me—since acquiring Affinity Photo 2 and simultaneously upgrading from 2008 MacPro running Mojave to Mac Mini M2Pro, up to date on Sonoma.  It's maddening right now, because I prefer starting from RAW images which I shoot on iPhone14 ProMax, and I have a ton of work to do, and have not been able to get them into Affinity Photo 2 in RAW form.  They appear most often as JPEG, sometimes TIFF.

Any ideas?  Has anyone else experienced this?

Excuse me.  As usual, I just discovered the problem is with me!  Read about an export option in Apple Photo: "Choose File > Export > Export Unmodified Original"

Problem solved, lesson learned, karma penetrated...
