Layer FX controls are reseting themselves to the point that layer FX are almost unusable. (AD 2, ipad, tested in new doc, v. 2.4.1.2344) (4 videos attached)

About halt the sliders on layer FX reseting themselves as soon as the user clicks anywhere else. Its realy hard to keep the sliders where they are suposed to be.

This happens a lot with the color wheel too in bigger documents with more layers (I saw another thread for that problem, so i didnt make any video for that problem.)

I don"t see this on my two iPads. Same version as yours.

EDIT: Same thing here too in Designer.

My first reply was after trying Photo. But FX in Photo have the same behaviour as in Designer. If you click on the move tool before clicking anywhere else the FX will remain as intended.

Hi @Amageton,

This is a touch gesture, so it's the expected behaviour when adjusting certain FX (and Filters in Photo) properties and has been the same since V1. Taking your first recording as an example, you adjusted the Offset value of the Outer Shadow by dragging the slider and then reset it using a single tap on the canvas, but an alternative way to adjust this is to move the position of the shadow on the canvas directly, and if I wanted to quickly reset the position/values back to default I can single tap, as shown in the recording below.

For most other Layer FX such as Outer Glow, Outline etc. this only applies to the radius slider, allowing for the radius value to be adjusted by dragging on the canvas rather than on the slider, and a finger tap will reset the value to 0.

Update- It’s since been brought to my attention that while this is a part of the touch gesture previously mentioned, the single tap which resets the value is not the expected behaviour, as it's being registered as a zero distance drag which resets the slider to 0. This is currently logged with the developers so I’ll bump it with your report.

Oh okay, didn't know that.

The slider feels incredibly buggy if used.

Maybe the devs should consider locking the value of the slider if it is touched, or making it a bit less easy to accidentally reset the value.

Edit: i didn't see your second reply. Thanks for the confirmation that this is not intended behaviour.

I am also dealing with this on the ipad. All I wanted to do was blur an object, then place the same object on top and mask/unblur parts of it (because I cannot seem to do this all on one layer). I cannot use filters because whatever I do next, clears the filter. and then it's back somehow. and then I click another layer, and it's gone. and so on. I think you need to get rid of the idea of moving filter objects directly on the object itself. No one is going to know to do that and the loss of using the entire feature by trying to add this feature is making the app unusable. Nothing should revert an effect other than explicitly removing it.
