Hey,

I think there is an issue with the liquify filter. I tried imitating the tutorial

In v1.mp4, (video 1) you can see how I tried to replicate what is done in the video. I didn't get a paint-like swirl effect, instead it forms into a sort of cross in the middle. Also, another unexpected thing that happened can be seen in v2.mp4 (video 2). When I drag some pixels, I expect them to be dragged along, instead, the mesh gets transformed, but the pixels aren't dragged along.

Thanks for looking in to this!

A potential solution could be trying the various Liquify Tools (-> Tools panel on the left) for a more swirling twirl result without this centred focus when painting repeatedly circular around a centre only.

Welcome to the forums @lagmoellertim,

While there is some differences between how the two apps generate and move the mesh, there does appear to be a bug with the liquify filter as eventually an unwarp-able image renders in the background, However using the destructive liquify persona rather than the filter does not trigger this bug, i'll get this logged.

As thomaso suggested, try using a combination of liquify tools, particularly the twirl tool rather than just trying to push forward tool over and over again in the same location, as this will eventually just form blade-like swirls.
