I went back to Photo 1

Recommended Posts

I deleted my version of Affinity Photo 2 and am re-using version one. This will hit me hard because I have several edited files that will now be incompatible. I have been a user of Serif PhotoPlus for several decades, and I still use PagePlus. Although I am still missing some features from PhotoPlus, Affinity Photo V1 is a good, but V2 is, at least for me, unusable. Here are my reasons:

- Affinity Photo 2 is much slower than version 1. If I can me a cup of coffee between the launching and being able to use it, that is not acceptable to me.

- Affinity Photo 2 installs in \Program File\WindowApps. I have tried about any suggestion available on the internet to read that directory, but have been not successful. Sorry guys, but if I cannot even create an icon on the desktop to launch the program, this program is of no use to me.

- Lastly, I do not understand why I cannot bypass updates and jump directly to the last one. Do I really have to download all these MBs only to be prompted to install the next version?

Hugely disappointed,

Just uninstall the version you have, and download and reinstall using the EXE installer:

You can. Just download the latest version of the program from your account at the Affinity Store, or from https://affinity.store/update/windows/photo/2 (and, in general, I think it will work directly from the program, except that you can't go directly from 2.0.4 to something higher than 2.1.0).
