Pasted text not keeping the attributes of Text box

Recommended Posts

Hi all, long time no post.

Been using Affinity Designer to letter comics. Pretty good results so far. Except for the lack of alterations like Pucker/Bloat and Roughen... anyway my question is that when doing lettering for comics, the practice is to copy text from a script and then paste it into the Document with the art and such. In "the other" app, when text is pasted into a text area/box that has a font/size/leading all set, the pasted text gains those attributes. In AD, it doesn't. So for every bit of dialog and captions, I have to re-select the font, change the leading and such. This is a bit of a time-sink.

Is there something that I'm not doing? An arcane modifier key? Sacrificing small animals in the dark of the moon... scratch the last one, that's for something else. :P

If this is the way it is (i.e. pasted text retaining its original formatting/applying a "default"), I feel the ability for pasted text to adapt to the setting of the target text frame/box be an option. purdy please?

Thanks!

@Leigh: Thanks for the response! However, I figured it out. I just need to remember to use the "Paste without format" using the massive key combo of Command-Option-Shift-V. I'll get around to changing that shortcut, once I get back up to speed on AD.
