CaptainShmaser
Hi all. I'm having no small amount of bother getting started with Affinity Designer on Windows 11 23H2. I'm beginning to think my machine is cursed I start the application and essentially the entire control ribbon doesn't respond to mouse input, mouseover causes the UI control to render albeit erroneously, but I can't actually click into anything. It might be related but Resizing the window also causes an immediate crash. Event Viewer Log for crashing the window is here. I have tried, via keyboard tabbing to get focus on the settings UI for the control ribbon and managed to get in haphazardly to try changing the GPU acceleration options but the drop downs don't function correctly or render correctly which makes it a bit tricky to get into any of the UI elements. Still I was able to keyboard tab into it (seems there's a timing knack to it) and change the values therein via keyboard/mouse input, at which point closing the UI (the close X still responds) prompted for a save but no effect whether I toggle Hardware Acceleration or not. Other things I've tried Tried alternating between the NVIDIA Design and Game Ready Drivers, also no change. Tried releases 2.3.1, 2.2.1 and the issues occur on both other versions. Tried both the EXE versions and the MSIX versions (currently got the EXE version installed) Has anyone had anything like this kind of bother getting the application up and running on Windows? System Specs in case they're relevant. CaptainShmaser
I'm not sure if I'm supposed to seeing other things in the Account/New/Open/Templates dialogue either. Everything is blank....or loads extremely slowly. I get a good old Windows Explorer file dialogue when I press open and can load a PDF file. But then can't do anything with it since there's no UI and I can't make the ribbon do anything.
