Hi all, despite having no end of trouble activating the trial license I took my friend (who uses this software suite on apple) on her word and purchased the Universal Licence.

I am still having issues activating my license however. For the time being I've only installed Designer V2 from it's MSIX package.

Popping the bonnet and looking at the application's web calls under the hood to see if this was a UI issue (since the registration UI was extremely unresponsive) with the values not propagating from the UI to whatever you've got running under the hood I see this call.

Which I can confirm has the correct email address and current password of my account (Redacted in the screenshot)). So in short, my question is what gives? Why are your web services telling my client that my credentials are incorrect when I have literally copied and then pasted them from the Account Management UI into the Registration Dialogue?

Are you aware that the Affinity Store and the forums are separate, and have separate account systems?

Which did you copy/paste the information from?

Also, does that interface really show the password? I didn't think either of them displays that.

Hi Walt, yeah when I signed up to the forums I noticed it wanted a separate password/sign in info. I haven't conflated the two I assure you.

The one I'm entering is from my Account details on the main affinity site where I have access to my account, purchased plans etc. Which is the account I created first (only created the forum account when I couldn't redeem my purchase).

It is unusual (at least in my experience) for a show password option, I thought web security conventions were to usually kept obfuscated, i.e., you can reset it but you can never see it. Still what's here matches my stored password manager.

Something seems to have happened behind the scenes. My account became locked since creating it. I can only surmise I've locked it by too many "failed" login attempts with my correct credentials or something funny happened between starting it as a trial account and moving it to a paid one. I was prompted in my current session to perform a password reset to resolve the lock.

Resetting the account meant changing the password and....now I'm able to register. Huzzah :)

A more useful response in the original 401 unauthorized message returned to the client would have been helpful if it was to do with an account lock out, and nor does it explain why I couldn't enrol with the original credentials which were part of my account when I started the trial...but never mind. It's not worth sacrificing a goat over to find out.

Thanks nameless IT Admin gods.
