I'm using Photo 2.4.0 and am unable to see or add the 'Texture Line Style' option in the 'Stroke Panel'.  I'm only able to see the options for 'none' 'solid' and 'broken'.

Can't see this category in the general Preferences option under Photo 2 "Settings" menu.

So how do I add 'Texture Line Style' to the 'Stroke Panel'?

The Textured Line Style is not supported in Affinity Photo, as it requires Affinity Vector Brushes, but Photo only supports Raster Brushes.

I'm going to guess you're on a Mac. On Windows, the option is available but does nothing. On Mac, it is not shown at all.

Thank you for replying Walt.

According to this video, it is possible to create a textured line, using Photo, and a direct link from Photo into Designer.

However, unlike the capacity for this in the video, on my iMac the style option doesn't show up, and the direct link (via the 'File' dropdown menu) is greyed out.

That will only be available if you have both Photo and Designer installed, and have the same release level of both applications.

And, as mentioned in the video, even if you had the Textured Line Style icon in Photo, it wouldn't do anything. It only works in Designer (or the Designer Persona of Publisher).

I do have both current versions installed and running (2.4.0) . But I can't access Designer 2 (2.4.0) because it's greyed out in the drop down menu.

And according to the video, the style option for textured line should still be visible in the drop menu for strokes in Photo, even if it doesn't work in this instance.

I'm thinking that the new Photo 2 version just doesn't have this capacity. The video is demonstration is using Photo 1.

It could be that it was removed in Photo 2 (on macOS) as it's useless there.

Have you Quit from and restarted both Designer and Photo since you updated them?

FWIW, before I did that I also had weird issues with the 2.4.0 version 'edit in...' options working irrationally. This was even though the update automatically restated the apps, so it amounts to having to restart them twice for everything to have sorted itself out for me.

Thank you RC-R.  Completely exiting and rebooting both Photo 2 and Designer 2 did enable the two apps to work together. I had to create a work-around for the brushes in the end (vector vs pixel brushes between apps), but at least the connectivity issue is resolved. Much appreciated!

You may want to post something in this topic I started a few days ago so the staff can see that you too had to do the 'double restart' to make Edit in... behave normally.

Also, could you say a bit more here about what you mean about a workaround for (sharing?) brushes among the apps, I assume via the Link Category options in the Brushes panel?
