BigJohnWingman
I have attached a photo I am working on. The moon layer leaves a black line around its layer. Why and how can I remove it? thanks, Big John Wingman
Staff MEB Posted April 25, 2016 Staff Share Posted April 25, 2016 Hi BigJohnWingman, Welcome to Affinity Forums :) Select the moon layer in the layers panel, change to the Move Tool and check if you have a stroke applied in the context toolbar (right above the work area). If you have, click on the dropdown and set the Style on top to None (see screenshot). BigJohnWingman
Hi MEB, I don't see a style at the top.
Staff MEB Posted April 26, 2016 Staff Share Posted April 26, 2016 Hi BigJohnWingman, Seems the moon is a Pixel layer rather than an Image layer. Can you please upload your .afphoto document using this link so i can check what's going on? All files will be deleted after being inspected. Thanks. BigJohnWingman
I remember now that I started with a jpg file instead of RAW. But, that shouldn't matter. The file is too big and won't upload.

BigJohnWingman
The file is 28 Mbytes. Too large to upload. suggestions? I think I can share it with icloud, but I need an address or something.
BigJohnWingman
Yes the moon layer is a pixel layer.
Staff MEB Posted April 26, 2016 Staff Share Posted April 26, 2016 You can use the link i provided in post number #4. Unless you are on an unreliable/slow connection 30 MB is not that big. I already received files with more than 1GB. Quote A Guide to Learning Affinity Software | Affinity Quick Reference

Staff MEB Posted April 26, 2016 Staff Share Posted April 26, 2016 Thanks for the file. The line is coming from the mask. There's a few bits that were not masked (the black lines you are seeing). To fix this do the following: - hide temporarily the first two layers - select just the mask layer in the Layers panel - change to the Paint Brush Tool, set the size of the brush to around 250 px and select Black for the colour (this will hide the areas that you will paint next) - paint over the lines on canvas You can now re-enable the first two layers.
