Creating a layer mask from multiple paths

Recommended Posts

Hello!

I am new to Affinity and cant figure out how to make a single layer mask containing several paths. I've added a screenshot to give you an idea of what I try to do.

I hope someone can help me.

Greetings,

Bert

Hi Bert,

Welcome to Affinity Forums :)

You have to add all those shapes so they become just one path. To do this, select them all and go to menu Layer ▸ Geometry ▸ Add. Then drag the resulting shape over the thumbnail of the image in the Layers panel until a small blue vertical line appears near the thumbnail. You can then release the mouse.

If you use boolean operations frequently you can add it to the main toolbar, right-clicking on it and selecting Customise Toolbar.... Drag the group called Operations (you may have to scroll a little to find it) to the toolbar.
