[My Strawberry Monkey]

Hey Affininators,

 

 

Yes that's a real word. Use it in a sentence you say? 'Don't make me Affiniate you". Yep you heard it first here.... :P

 

Anyway, I've had this idea for a long time before I knew about Affinity Designer so was using another illustration software. Didn't really get to grips with the concept but discovering Designer certainly helped bring this to life in how comfortable I felt using the software. Still progressing and learning and very inspired by the great work on here, Retrograde, Paolo, Giant Lobster, Eejits, Flokk are just a few....

 

So the first is being posted tomorrow (hopefully on a weekly basis) on Social Media as this was designed with Instagram in mind but I will be posting on other SM as well. Excellent stuff here, what a great idea. Nice looking characters. Watch out for 'tangents' in the background (where the middle tree touches the right hand tree at the trunk), those flatten the image and you lose the depth you're trying to achieve by overlapping. (A tip I was given by an illustrator and now I have a bad habit of looking out for them! ^_^ )

 

Good luck with it all, keeping up with a regular schedule is hard sometimes but I'm sure you'll manage. Look forward to seeing more!

Thanks George, good spot. Now you've made me paranoid and had to do some research (learnt some maths along the way) and now i'm looking back at the rest of these for them :o  :huh:

 

Yep that's why I said weekly, I do have a plan so hopefully I won't run out of ideas... :D

 

Never know, My Strawberry Monkey may be out strolling and bump in to an eejit ;)

Hah Sorry Allan. Once you notice them, you can't stop seeing them. My creations are full of them and it's really annoying. But onward with new found knowledge and the quest to make even better creations. Keep the creative juices flowing. My eejits are waiting..... ;)

Great stuff, Allan! You might like to note that 'learnt' (like 'leapt' and 'spelt') is peculiar to British English; I think 'learned' would travel better. :)
