PepGold
I know that you can add your own presets, but I really miss the large A0, A1, B1 etc formats in there as a default. ronnyb and Bit Disappointed
Bit Disappointed
Before anyone has the opportunity to highlight that the matter has been broached previously, I shall swiftly interject to confirm that, indeed, it has been brought to the fore for a decidedly valid reason. That is to articulate, quite emphatically, that their removal was most assuredly unwarranted. ronnyb and debraspicher 2 Quote I simply no longer believe that there are any professional graphic designers here. ronnyb
I agree. The presets can be organized into subcategories if the issue is “too many presets” Why remove industry standard presets? So your users have MORE work to do? I don’t understand this “logic” either…. PaulEC
I seem to remember that another reason given for removing the larger presets was that Serif decided to only list sizes that could be printed on a domestic, desktop printer. Considering that the Affinity software is aimed at professional users, I'm a little surprised that they (apparently) think that professionals only produce work to be printed on domestic printers! Bit Disappointed
It's a bad attempt to simplify things by limiting options. One size fits no one. The best solution would be to allow customers to choose from a list of many commercial or popular formats, selecting the ones they need to use regularly in new documents. This way, the program could come with a bunch of formats from around the world, by default offer the most commonly used ones without question, but easily let users add more and remove the ones they don't want to see every time. ronnyb and PaoloT 2 Quote I simply no longer believe that there are any professional graphic designers here. Return
Although standards as presets is nice and obviously can clutter the panel as there can be so much variables per preset. Like color mode with or with out bleed and portrait or landscape mode. I therefor would like to point out that one could create templates from just the document specs wanted. You can either assign the template folder in the new menu or drag/drop a template file to the UI of the affinities(not the canvas as this may or may not work) from a dam/finder/explorer. It is also possible to make assets of your files and also drag/drop to the UI from the assets folder.
