Spectrum999555
Hi there, I currently experimenting around with the Displacement filter in Photo. I was managing to create some interesting effects with it until I started getting this odd looking effect on my work.I don't know this is the filter working as intended based on info of the map I loaded in or if its a bug. So I have a black rectangle set up on a white background.- Pic 1 I add a live displacement map in and load a jpeg image to act as a map. It seems to work fine here.- Pic 2 As I adjust the strength of the filter the effect seems to change dramatically. Where there is a harsh lines across the image. - Pic 3 Then if I zoom in or out on the document, the harsh lines change position and even cut off different parts of the image. Pic 4/5 This effect is still present at different strengths of the filter.- Pic 6 If I zoom out to see the whole document the full effect of the displacement can be seen without any harsh lines. - Pic 7 So is all of this meant to happen when using the displacement filter? When I try and export the document, either as a slice of from File-Export, the displacement filter seems to be affected by the harsh lines still. (See below) The image I'm using for the displacement map is a jpeg of some pink marble. But this effect has occurred when using different images for the map too. Many thanks for any replies to shed some light on this for me
Staff NathanC Posted 10 hours ago Staff Share Posted 10 hours ago Welcome to the forums @Spectrum999555, From your screenshots this does appear to be unexpected behaviour, could you provide a copy of the .afphoto file where you're seeing this as well as a copy of the marble texture used for the map? I can provide a private upload link if needed. Many thanks
