Pete6000 Posted February 22, 2024 Posted February 22, 2024 (edited) When making a straight line with the pen tool, you can drag to make a straight line and you can see where the line is. However when making a line by clicking nodes one by one, you can't see where the line will be. I don't know if this is intended or a bug, but I think it would be easier if this worked the same way as dragging, where you can see the line (which should go between the previous node and the cursor). Here's an example when dragging to show what it should look like: Thanks, Edited February 22, 2024 by Pete6000 Alfred 1

On Windows (macOS has a different shortcut, see the Status Bar) you can hold the Right Mouse button down before lifting the Left Mouse Button after clicking and you will see the line.

I still don't see the line unless I drag a little, so I don't see the point of getting involved in all that horrible RMB/LMB stuff. 1 hour ago, Alfred said: We only have to drag by a small amount, but I agree that it would be good to see the 'rubber band' without having to drag at all. When the Pen Tool is in Pen Mode or Smart Mode I’m not sure how the software could show the line if it doesn’t know what sort of line you are going to make before you release the Left Mouse Button, but I see no problem with being able to see the line before we click in Polygon Mode or Line Mode.
