LaPellesFactory
All of a sudden, I am unable to re-order layers in the layers panel of either Publisher or Photo. I am running v. 2.3.1 of both Photo and Publisher on a Mac Studio with OS Sonoma v. 14.2.1. Until today, the layers panel worked fine. Now, when I click and hold a layer to move it, I get a shadow copy of the layer and a pointer with a plus sign, as though it were being copied. But I can't click anywhere either within the panel or outside of it to stop whatever it is trying to do, and the layer will not drop into its intended spot on he stack. Once I am in this state, no other mouse controls work in any other application on my computer. I have to use keyboard commands to switch to the finder so I can force quit the Affinity programs. Of course, this happened during a time-critical project. Does anyone have any idea why this would have happened? Any thoughts on a fix or workaround? I am attaching a screen shot of what happens when I try to move a layer; you can see the shadow copy of the layer I'm trying to move at the bottom. TIA for any ideas. This suggests there is something wrong with your mouse software, not with Affinity, but I have no idea what that might be. LaPellesFactory
Thanks for your reply RC-R. That had occurred to me as well and I'm going to try another mouse, but it is not happening in any other application. In the meantime, I used the Layer>Arrange menu. ... and the software just upgraded to v 2.3.1.2217 and the problem disappeared.
