SianD
I am using Affinity Designer v1, and an Epson SC F100 Sublimation printer. Since my Mac updated to Sonoma operating system, when I go to print a subject, and go into ColorSync, the profiles for Rigid and Textiles are no longer listed. I have contacted Epson and can confirm I am using the correct and latest driver dated Oct 22, and they are unable to help otherwise. The profiles were there before the MacOs upgrade and so I assume the Mac upgrade has caused this issue. Any advice would be gratefully received to rectify this. Thank you. Hangman
Hi @SianD and welcome to the forums, Do you happen to know which folder the Rigid and Textiles profile is located in on your Mac? I've just checked which profiles are picked up by my Epson SC P600 when selecting Colorsync and it appears to be picking up profiles from three different locations, namely: /Library/ColorSync/Profiles /System/Library/ColorSync/Profiles /Users/username/Library/ColorSync/Profiles Quote Affinity Designer 2.3.1.2217 | Affinity Photo 2.3.1.2217 | Affinity Publisher 2.3.1.2217 Affinity Designer Beta 2.4.0.2294 | Affinity Photo Beta 2.4.0.2294 | Affinity Publisher Beta 2.4.0.2294 Affinity Designer 1.7.3 | Affinity Photo 1.7.3 | Affinity Publisher 1.10.8 MacBook Pro 16GB, macOS Monterey 12.6.
SianD
Hi Hangman, how do you check which file path the software is using to obtain the profiles? I have looked in the 3 locations you mentioned above and the Rigid and Textile profiles are not listed at all in paths 1 and 2 above, but there is nothing in path 3. Thanks. Hangman
Hi Sian, 4 minutes ago, SianD said: how do you check which file path the software is using to obtain the profiles? I'm not sure as it appears to be automatically accessing all three locations (for me at least) but if you can locate your 'Rigid and Textiles ICC profile' I would try moving it into the /Library/ColorSync/Profiles folder and then seeing whether or not your printer then picks up the profile... Note: You may need to reboot your Mac after moving the profile to that folder before the printer will recognise it (assuming it does)... Let us know whether or not that works... SianD
Hi again, I have carried out a word search on my Mac and cannot locate and document with Rigid in the name. When going to print in Affinity Designer, the Printer Options, Color Matching and then ColorSync, other profiles, the Printer SC F100 is not listed. I can go into EPSON Color Controls then Print Settings, and DS Transfer General Purpose/Rigid and Textile are listed. Should I use EPSON Color Controls rather than ColorSync? I’ve always understood the Epson Color Controls to be the better setting to use… Is the profile selectable in Designer? Where does the Rigid and Textiles Profile come from originally website wise, you could always redownload it… Quote Affinity Designer 2.3.1.2217 | Affinity Photo 2.3.1.2217 | Affinity Publisher 2.3.1.2217 Affinity Designer Beta 2.4.0.2294 | Affinity Photo Beta 2.4.0.2294 | Affinity Publisher Beta 2.4.0.2294 Affinity Designer 1.7.3 | Affinity Photo 1.7.3 | Affinity Publisher 1.10.8 MacBook Pro 16GB, macOS Monterey 12.6.
SianD
I had the Rigid and Textile Profiles when my Mac was using Ventura before updating to Sonoma, but it looks as though the update has wiped them, and even downloading the printer driver again, has not brought them back. I will try using Epson Color Controls and see what happens. I will let you know and thank you for your help. Hangman
